Where There’s Love

BY HUMPHREY OGU

Where there’s love
No matter the magnitude of the waves
Fishes live with fishes
And swim in the same sea

Where there’s love
No matter the magnitude of the wind
Birds flock with birds
And perch on the same branch

Where there’s love
No matter the magnitude of the storms
Trees stand by trees
And live in the same forest

Where there’s love
No matter the magnitude of hunger
Sheep graze with sheep
And drink from the same pool

Where there’s love
No matter the harshness of the weather
Grasses grow with grasses
And cooperate to form a great field

Where there’s love
No matter the season
Ants march with ants
And parade on the same ground

Where there’s no love
Even without any reason
Men deny men
Rights to freedom, peace and happiness

Where there’s no love
For no just cause
Men become beast
And kill kinsmen, why?
